Have you ever played a game so awesome you thought to yourself, “Wow. I wish there was a way I could be part of this.” Have you already thought up the next great app? In this session you will learn how to move those thoughts forward and become a Video Game Developer.
In this session, you’ll create your choice of a 2D or 3D action or narrative game that you can show off to your friends and your family. Get the experience and learning you need to do something awesome. Stop just playing games and start making them.
We know kids love to play games, but what about learning from them? In this camp, your child will learn about programming and design using the same software industry professionals use everyday: Unity3D. As part of this session, students will learn about experience design (narrative, pacing) and visual design (aesthetics, worldbuilding) and leverage these design skills to think as critically about games as they would a book or film. Unity3D is free to use so students will have the opportunity to keep practicing at home what they will learn this summer.
Computer Spec Requirements:
Computers will be provided but if you want to bring your computer from home we can help you get setup to continue to build games after the session ends.
