David Kersey brings his 15 years of animation experience from Hollywood to NERDIES™. David tells stories of his days working on films such as The Polar Express, Tangled, Wreck-it Ralph, and Frozen. Learn the basics of how 3D animated movies are made and use the same software that was use by the professionals to create these blockbuster hits!

Session Description:

Do you want to know how Frozen was made?! If you answered yes, then this is the session for you! We will explore 3D animation. You will get to learn on the same software industry professionals use everyday as a part of their job.

This session is facilitated by PIXEL™'s Executive Director, and former Disney digital artist, David Kersey. David has 15 years of experience working on animated movies in Hollywood including the Academy Award winner Frozen.

David will introduce campers to 3D animation software and techniques. Students will learn all about the movie making process and get to experiment with animation and make it work on screen.  

We will have computers available for all students. If you have your own laptop, bring it and we’ll get you get setup so you can continue to work on your own projects at home!
