Getting bored of the same old blocks? The same old items? Think it would be cool to add in your own stuff, the way that you want it to look? Enrolling in the Mods For Minecraft programming class will let you do just that! Lead Mentor Justin will teach you the steps it takes to make your imagination take form in the world of Minecraft!
Whether you are new to modding or an old pro, Nerdies will get you on a path to greatness. At the beginning of each session our mentors will assess where each student is and figure out a plan to get them working toward the ultimate goal of making mods or making the mods they have already made (hopefully through Nerdies) better.
So as a parent we know the thought of putting your child into a session where they play MORE video games is a bit bothersome. However, we have found that the love your child has for Minecraft is the perfect catalyst for learning and their excitement drives their desire to dive into the complex world of mod making. To make mods your child will be learning object oriented programming through Java, a very powerful and prevalent coding language. This session is a fantastic way to get your child into computer programming or further the skills they already have.
All participants must have their own laptop (minimum 4Gb of RAM and run Windows 7 or one of the new operating systems) and awesomeness.
Nerdies Summer Sessions will be held Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm. Lunch not provided.
A NON-REFUNDABLE payment is required to hold your spot for Nerdies Summer Sessions. In the event your child is unable to attend the payment can be applied to future Nerdies offerings.
Minimum of 5 students required, maximum of 12 students total
