The NWA Nerd Awards Are Back!
NWA Nerd Awards returns for 2017, providing scholarship opportunities for smart kids to attend Nerdies this summer.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Feb. 23, 2017) - Nerdies, a division of New Design School, today announced that NWA Nerd Awards has returned for 2017, and registration is now open. Founded in 2013 by Brad Harvey, Nerdies offers fun, interactive classes focused on areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) for children ages 6 to 15.
Harvey recently gifted the alternative learning program to New Design School earlier this month, a strategic addition for the school that is already known for educating the next generation of creative professionals and entrepreneurs that will shape the future of innovation in design and technology.
Designed with the nerdy kid in mind, Nerdies Summer Sessions are limited-sized, week-long day sessions set in a positive, engaging environment. This year, sessions will be accessible in multiple locations across Northwest Arkansas like Fayetteville, Bentonville, Rogers, Crystal Bridges Museum and the Amazeum.
The NWA Nerd Awards is an entry-based contest designed to recognize all the smart and talented kids across our region who excel academically and want to take their passions for learning to the next level. Participants in the NWA Nerd Awards will compete for full scholarships, valued at $450.00 each, to attend an upcoming 2017 Nerdies Summer Session thanks to the generosity of program sponsors.
