What’s Up With Nerdies Lately?

NWA Business Journal to Feature Nerdies

The January 6th issue of the NWA Business Journal will feature an article written about Nerdies so be sure to check it out. Special thanks goes out to Jennifer Joyner for her excitement and interest in the things we doing at Nerdies.

Nerdies Forming a 501c3 to Help Lower Income Children

Over the course of the past six months one of the main questions we get asked is “what about all those smart kids out there whose families cannot afford to take their child to Nerdies?” That is a great question and something that we have put a lot of thought into.  What it comes down to is that being poor doesn’t make you stupid and being rich doesn’t make you smart, but it definitely affects your access to educational opportunities.  Not only are we a business but we do have a social responsibility to our community.  With that in mind, and lots of research and help from others, we are going to also form a non-profit organization to ensure that
any child who wants to learn will always be able to at Nerdies.  More info to come.

Natural State Angels Association Meeting

Nerdies will be presenting our business on January 6th to the Natural State Angels Association. This is a fantastic opportunity for Nerdies to secure new investors and take a huge step forward in getting our initial location opened.

Building Plans Submitted

On the last day of 2013 at 3:30pm Nerdies submitted our building plans to the city of Fayetteville. This was a huge effort by everyone involved as we needed to get the plans submitted before new codes go into effect starting January 1, 2014.
