Chloe Costello Hiley

Chloe Costello Hiley works as a part-time Art Director at Tesseract Center for Immersive Environments and Game Design.  In a sense, she was a NERDIE herself -- she's always had a passion for video games and dreamed of making them as a kid.  A few small experiments while in high school ended up leading to a full-fledged career! She specializes in 3D modeling and visualization, fueled by her experience as a graduate from the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture.  As a part of NERDIES™, she'll be teaching how to create a visually rich 2D or 3D game as well as helping NERDIES™ work with other developers from the Unity Users Group in NWA.

What will you learn from Chloe?

In this 5-day workshop, students will explore the dynamics of game design by creating a 2D platformer or 3D game in Unity. Students will begin by learning how to make their way around the Unity3D game engine interface, and each subsequent day will be focused on a single principle of game development: story, game mechanics, level design and polish. By understanding these elements, students will come to understand how they interact with one another to form a cohesive experience. By the end of the week, students will be able to continue their learning on their own with the knowledge they gained with a fully working game project in tow that they can continue developing.

No previous knowledge of Unity is necessary.
