We're David & Brooke Condolora: Ozark game developers, quiet adventurers.

David & Brooke Condolora

Most recently, we developed folktale adventure Burly Men at Sea during our eighteen months as nomads and erstwhile farmhands. We’re now based in an old mill in Fayetteville with our indomitable cairn terrier, Oliver Doggins, who inspired our first game and accompanies us on all dog-friendly escapades.

Formerly of Pixar and Disney Animation, David is a veteran story shaper. As programmer, he’s usually the left brain of the outfit, but also shares design and writing duties.

Outside of development, he devotes an inordinate amount of time to screenwriting, biking, and eating, in some order.

With a background in graphic design and illustration, Brooke is the artist, animator, and all around right brain-er. She also handles Brain&Brain’s web development and coffee brewing.

She's commonly found devouring books at an alarming rate, printing on an old tabletop press, or watching Ghibli films.

What will you learn at the BRAIN&BRAIN NERDIES™ session?

In this week-long session, students will be creating their own 2D Zelda-like action-adventure game! They’ll begin by learning the basics of game design, and then build a world of their own, complete with sound, graphics, items, and enemies. Students will be able to add their own story to the world, create a puzzle, and challenge fellow students (and Brain&Brain!) to explore and complete their game.

Students will be creating games in Unity, an industry-standard game engine. Basic programming concepts in C# will be taught, along with elements of animation and narrative design.
